In the recent times China has become one of the top exporters of various products and commodities to the United States of America. The recent statistics shows that the United States has imported more than 215 billion USD worth of various goods from China making China figure in the 2nd position in the list of Trade partners.
China leads in the export of food products to United States of America. In 5he year 2006, the department of Agriculture had announced that it has imported more than 4 billion USD worth of Agricultural products and seafood from the Chinese. When the statistics are compared, it is found out that in the year 1995 US import of food products from china was around 800 million USD, which has grown to more than 4 billion USD worth in 2006.
United States imports fish around 2.5 billion worth of fish and shellfish annually from China. Among the fishes include the catfish and shrimps as well, which are in great demand in the country. Catfish and shrimps are the highly consumed seafood in the United States. It is not just sea food, even fruits and fruit products are imported, Apple Juice is imported in large amounts from China. Around 50 percent of the Apple juice imported comes from China itself. Even though United States produces around 110000 tons of apple juice annually, it still has to import around 170000 tons of apple juice due to the excessive demand for the same.
Most of the garlic preparations used in the United States comes from China. China being the largest producer of Garlic they export it to many countries around the world and United States alone imports around 500 million USD worth of garlic every year.
Other than these US also imports spices, tea, nuts, food grains, feed and poultry from China.
