The Linking
International Trade Education (LITE) Program
is a focused attempt to create systematic change in the
education of students (K-12) to enable them to understand
and compete successfully in the global marketplace. This
will be accomplished by synthesizing the geographical, cultural,
political, and trade htmlects of the international arena.
By linking faculty, administrators and students, we will
increase awareness of the international marketplace through
the use of telecommunications and emerging technologies.
A common complaint among business owners is that today's
graduates are not aware of the global marketplace. Our
students must be capable of competing in the world market.
By linking the substantial information on the International
Trade Data Network (ITDN)
with schools and curriculums, students will better understand
the world economy, its people and international business
opportunities.
